The course tutor is Peter Edmondson MVB CertCHP DipECBHM FRCVS.
The practice organises and runs the Mastitis Control And Quality Milk Production Seminar in conjunction with Roger Blowey. The practice has been running since 1992 and over 350 dairy vets and industry people from the UK and across the world have attended.
This seminar is intended to provide an in-depth understanding of the basic principles of mastitis control and quality milk production. It is designed for the dairy practitioner who wishes to be or is already involved in mastitis work.
Concepts of mastitis control and epidemiology, including milking machine function will be discussed in detail. During the first and second farm visit, delegates will familiarise themselves with the various parts of the milking machine, learn how to carry out simple milking machine tests and how the machine interacts with udder health.
There will be a detailed close up appraisal of a herd, where participants will have ample opportunity for practical work, including an analysis of environmental conditions. The seminar will be presented in a practical format that involves discussions amongst all participants.
The next seminar will run between the 4th and the 6th of November 2012. You may download the course’s detailed brochure here. Mastitis Seminar 2012 brochure
